The Subsurface Library, founded in 1962, is the premier geological data source for the Permian Basin, the highest producing oil and gas basin in the United States. The library's collections include multiple suites of well data, both current and historical, that can't be found anywhere else.

The library's unique datasets include both new and old logs, unreleased logs, logs donated by independents and private companies, mud logs, sample logs with handwritten descriptions, handwritten scout tickets and scout cards.

The library's well log index, Amerada scout tickets and Kroenlein scout cards are searchable by location on our website.
